October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nowadays, an increasing number of women, even at a young age, are experiencing breast-related issues such as hyperplasia, lumps, and even cancer. To safeguard our breast health and overall well-being, regular examinations and healthier daily habits are of paramount importance.
Here are five essential tips from a TCM perspective to promote breast health.
1)Maintain a Positive Mindset: Our emotional well-being is vital for breast health, whether you consider it from Western or TCM viewpoints. Don't keep discomfort or anxiety bottled up. In TCM, repressed emotions can disrupt the flow of Qi and energy, especially Liver Qi, which can lead to breast issues. Just check how many meridians are running through our breasts!
So, ladies, remember that a happier mood is number one for our breast health. If you need to shout out your anger, let it be.
2) Make sure to have Quality Sleep: Getting sufficient and restful sleep is crucial for our overall health, including breast health. In TCM, it's recommended to go to bed before 11 PM to allow your liver ample time to rejuvenate.
3) Dedicate Time to Self-Care: Whether you prefer yoga, meditation, jogging, or TCM-recommended activities like Qigong, scalp massage, or meridian gua sha, self-care is a significant part of maintaining our overall well-being, including our breast health.
4) Acupressure Points & Gua Sha: Consider kneading and massaging specific acupressure points beneficial for breast health, like Danzhong Ren 17. Stay tuned for my next video, where I'll share more on this. You can also try scraping the holographic area of the breast, located on our back.
5) Maintain Healthy Eating Habits: Eating regularly and avoiding overindulgence is important. Try to stop eating when you're around 70% to 80% full. This balanced approach to nutrition contributes to overall health and, importantly, breast health.
By incorporating these TCM-inspired daily habits into your routine, you can take proactive steps to support your breast health and well-being. Remember, your health is your greatest asset!
